Company HistoryThe company was formed in 1984 as a broadcast acquisition and consulting firm. The
founders of Continental were Dennis R. Selenka and David F. Peschau. Selenka was CFO of
Liberty Television with overall financial responsibilities for a group of 5 television
stations. Before joining Liberty Selenka had been Treasurer of IGA, one of the nations
largest grocery store chains. Peschau was the Vice President of Liberty and directly
managed or oversaw two of the Liberty stations besides corporate responsibilities
including government relations, affiliate relations, industry relations (NAB, TvB, RAB).
Prior to joining Liberty Peschau served as Vice President of Horizon Communications
Corporation. Peschau has had a distinguished career in the broadcast profession. Joining the industry after successfully completing training programs in retail and teaching at the high school level, Peschau has held the positions of on air personality (radio and television), sales executive (radio and television), sales management (radio and television), program management (radio and television), station management (radio and television), corporate management (radio, television and cable) and has owned and operated stations throughout the midwest and southwest. Since 1989, and more so since 1992, Peschau has expanded Continental into an international consulting firm specializing in assisting the growth of the broadcast industry in the former soviet block countries and Latin America.
